Vulcha

The very essence of matter is brought to the surface by these mysterious objects, whose textures stripes and abstract reliefs allude to buried languages, ancient messages, or rituals. A curved reflecting backdrop is housed inside them, giving back an image of reality as if it were the result of an inner filter. The convex mirror alludes to the fragility of our being, and at the same time represents a powerful tool for deflecting negative energies, a strong metaphor for protection found in the symbolism of many cultures and in different eras.

This collection of objects re-proposes the ancient Etruscan technique of bucchero, which is worked from clay material extracted from rainfall deposits and then fired in special oxygen-free kilns, where the object is fired immersed in coal.

The large crater shape, combined with the curved, reflective base, recalls a device for interaction, a ceremonial object that spans the ages and speaks the universal language of archetypes.
