Totem Table Lamp
On the path of research and inspiration that has always linked it to Japan, the design studio wanted to explore a timeless ritual, known and appreciated all over the world: Origami. This practice tells a story made of fragments, folds, shapes and meanings that are continuously renewed. This suggestion gave rise to a luminous sculpture composed of various modules: interconnected fragments, with thin lines and folds that (re)define the illusion of what is a shape, a line, an ephemeral artefact.
Just as Origami is transformed, revealing ever new figures and meanings, so too the modular structure of Totem gives shape to memory, substance and inspiration. Anodised aluminium, tunable white LEDs and a clean, timeless structure, vertical yet sloping, pointed yet square, imposing yet soft.

Tokio is a high-end contemporary furniture and lighting brand developed by Asobi, a design studio founded by Gorazd Malačič in 1999. Asobi focuses on creating timeless and avant-garde objects that fuse a minimalist aesthetic with advanced technologies. The studio made its international debut at the London Design Festival in 2005 with the sculptural Isle Lounge sofa and soon gained global recognition, receiving a Design Distinction Award from I.D. magazine for the futuristic Gwig LED lamps.
Tokio was launched in 2011 as Asobi's dedicated design brand, with a philosophy rooted in longevity, precision and quiet playfulness. Tokio continues to explore new expressions, fusing Japanese inspiration with cutting-edge design to shape distinctive, contemporary living environments.
