Upcycled Fragments – Instinct

What to do with the waste generated by furniture production? How to valorise this waste, which is often difficult to reuse? How to give it a new life, reduce the environmental impact and optimise the production process, without sacrificing aesthetics and refinement? By developing limited series and high-quality one-off pieces, Marie-Amelie's studio promotes durability, human relationships and the excellence of craftsmanship. Local sourcing and sustainable production are at the heart of her work. Her creations, born from close collaborations with exceptional craftsmen, are the result of a careful dialogue between material, memory and gesture. Arnaud Mainardi, from the Chatersèn workshop in the Cévennes, works with chestnut to create essential and eco-sustainable furniture. Sharing a vision and sensitivity, together they reflected on the importance of preserving the material and enhancing its uniqueness. Starting with wood scraps provided by the workshop, Marie-Amelie let shapes and irregularities guide the design, transforming the unexpected into creative dialogue. The result is an essential basket, designed for everyday use, where the fragment is the source of silent transformation and invisible repair, a metaphor for the regenerative act.
