The Serra del Grumello becomes a space for encounter and connection, welcoming visitors in. Literary Café, Bookshop and Temporary Bistrot come together here, set within the park, forming the informal heart of the Festival. A place for conversation and reflection, where good food, publications and cultural events open up new perspectives on the theme of this eighth edition.
Serra del Grumello, Como
Temporary Bistrot
La Breva Catering brings its culinary vision to the Serra del Grumello, turning it into the Temporary Bistrot of the eighth edition of Lake Como Design Festival. A place for gathering and connection, where tradition and innovation, nature and design, conviviality and craftsmanship come together with quiet elegance, allowing flavour and hospitality to tell the story of the local territory.
Davide Grosso, La Breva Catering
Founded on the vision of chef Davide Grosso and developed together with Anna and a team of young professionals, La Breva Catering approaches every event with one guiding principle: no two occasions are ever the same. Each experience is therefore shaped by its setting, the people it brings together and the ingredients it celebrates, with a focus on seasonal produce and the rich culinary heritage of Lake Como. Bookshop
Designed by Kriptonite, which has created a bespoke installation to enhance the space, and managed by Como's historic Libreria Plinio il Vecchio, the Serra del Grumello Bookshop is a place for gathering, discovery and reflection, inviting visitors to explore the themes at the heart of this year's edition.
Through a carefully curated selection of publications, essays, exhibition catalogues and special-interest books, the bookshop offers an opportunity to extend the Festival experience with new perspectives and deeper insights, bringing books, ideas and the Festival's cultural programme into dialogue. Conceived as an extension of the exhibition route, the space welcomes visitors into a thoughtfully designed setting where reading becomes a way to engage more deeply with the Festival's themes and continue the experience beyond the visit itself.
Talks
On the two Sunday afternoons of the Festival, 13 and 20 September, the Serra del Grumello becomes a space for dialogue and exchange, hosting a series of talks with leading figures from the worlds of contemporary design, art and architecture, in an outdoor setting designed by Nodo Italia.
An opportunity to listen to inspiring voices, discover creative processes and be introduced to perspectives and stories that intertwine research, creativity and the culture of design. Set within an informal atmosphere surrounded by greenery, these appointments invite the public to actively engage in conversation, exploring the Festival's themes through direct dialogue with guests, professionals and authors. A chance to pause, share ideas and experience the Serra as a place of encounter, exchange and inspiration.

The influence of minimal design and graphic design on the development of contemporary design.
How the minimalist movement, in contrast with postmodern culture, has influenced and continues to shape the development of contemporary design. A journey through the roots of minimalist design and graphic design, deeply connected to the artistic research of A.G. Fronzoni, one of its most significant interpreters and masters. What are the founding principles of this design vision, too often simplified and reduced to a mere pursuit of formal simplicity? With Giulio Cappellini and Patrizia Scarzella.
