This new edition opens to the public one of Como city's gems, Villa del Grumello. Reconstructed in the second half of the 16th century, the Villa became one of the first suburban residences on the shores of Lake Como, cherished for its enchanting views and privileged location, surrounded by greenery yet close to the urban core.
After years of neglect, the Villa del Grumello Association initiated in 2006 its restoration to give the villa a new role in the city's cultural life: hosting cultural, entrepreneurial, scientific, and educational initiatives.
Inside Villa del Grumello, the Lake Como Design Festival presents a new exhibition path through the various rooms on the ground and first floors. A selection of projects, collections of works, objects, and furnishings from different entities (galleries, independent designers, artists, companies, editors, archives) are presented, approaching the theme of this sixth edition, Lightness, from the perspective of material and shape.
