ALPINE LANDSCAPES / Traces of stone, community bonds between Italy and Switzerland.

The installation Paesaggi Alpini. Tracce di pietra, legami di comunità tra Italia e Svizzera (Alpine Landscapes: Traces of stone, community bonds between Italy and Switzerland) highlights the themes and objectives of the PAESALP project. This initiative aims to enhance the cultural, landscape, and material heritage of the Alps in the cross-border region through an integrated, participatory, and sustainable approach, focusing on the rediscovery and use of local stone in traditional construction, craftsmanship, and land management.

The program, which originated as an Interreg Italy-Switzerland Cooperation initiative, will be presented across its three defining phases: one dedicated to Alpe Madrera and stone in Valtellina, one focusing on the stones of Ceresio, and a final phase centered on cross-border replicability and sustainability. Promoters of the project include Politecnico di Milano, SUPSI, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, FAI, the Province of Sondrio, Associazione Laboratorio Carona, Fondazione Canova, Associazione Furfulera, the Ethnographic Museum of the Muggio Valley, and Cave Bonomi. The exhibition, hosted within the spaces of Politecnico di Lecco, is curated by Matteo Moscatelli.
