Wood and fiberglass work
Boga
2026
This project is part of Wiener Norm, a collection inspired by the everyday sights, smells, and sensations of Vienna, translated into a material expression of the designers' experience of the city. The renowned Viennese quality of life served as the starting point for Boga. The result is a sculpture tensioned between floor and ceiling, evoking the form of a tree. Occupying the full height of a room, the sculpture introduces a subtle ornament to a space that is typically left empty. At the tip of its flexible branch rests a small bird that gently sways with the breeze whenever a window is open. Like a mobile for adults, Boga is an introspective object with a refined and graceful presence.
Boga gently dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, between domestic space and the natural world. Although urban life often distances us from nature, the human need for it remains constant and essential to our well-being. By introducing a tree-like presence into the home—one that responds to air currents and invites the viewer to look upward, as one would in a landscape—Boga creates a subtle and contemplative encounter with nature indoors. In doing so, it blurs the boundary between city and wilderness, offering a quiet moment of reflection that reconnects everyday domestic life with the rhythms and gestures of the natural environment.
Structurally, the sculpture works entirely through tension. The branch locks the telescopic extenders in place, allowing the piece to adapt to virtually any ceiling height without the need for visible technical hardware that would otherwise interrupt the fluidity of its form.
At the base of the branch, a small worm introduces a subtle note of humour, softening the sculpture's otherwise calm and contemplative presence. This understated detail invites a moment of surprise and encourages storytelling, suggesting a quiet narrative between the worm and the bird above. It adds a layer of playfulness, allowing viewers to project their own interpretations and engage with the piece on a more personal level.
NOEMAR Company is a Vienna-based design studio founded in 2025 by Noelani and Marcel. Their practice is rooted in exploration, narrative, and humour. United by their shared background at the Design Academy Eindhoven, they create furniture and objects that foster meaningful interaction and spark everyday joy, guided by their motto, la necessità di bellezza ("the necessity of beauty"). Their work is defined by an exploratory approach and a strong sense of storytelling, with each piece carrying a subtle je ne sais quoi through carefully embedded details and unexpected elements.
Bringing together complementary perspectives, Marcel’s transition from business strategy introduces an analytical sensitivity to production, function, and longevity, while Noelani’s lifelong creative drive and international outlook nurture a curiosity for the unusual and the expressive. Together, they create objects that are both imaginative and considered, balancing playfulness with purpose.
