Manchaha - Pran Rekha (Life Line)

Manchaha project has merged design and social impact, empowering thousands of weavers in rural India, 85% of whom are women. With the freedom to weave what their hearts desire, this initiative has provided thousands of weavers with a sustainable livelihood and a newfound sense of confidence and pride.

Manchaha rugs reflect a return to the past and vision for the future. They are woven with fragments of memories, experiences, and dreams of artisans. The slow, meditative process allows thoughts to unfold over months, with more than 200,000 knots coming together to narrate a visual story.

This initiative sustains a community that is a living example of over 2400 years of generational art and heritage, reviving individual self-expression.

“Pran Rekha” (Life Line) is the rug created by Guddi, Suman and Soniya - a profound reflection on the invisible threads that connect all living beings. Through tiny dots that become crawling ants, the artists weave a story of movement, resilience, and unity. Like ants, humans search, build, and overcome, each step a part of a greater journey. The wisest beings and the tiniest creatures coexist on the same earth, a reminder that no matter how small or unseen, every life has a place and a purpose.
