Stool and coffee table in sluminum and leather

Between defining and connecting, space emerges.

Confine is not a limitation, but a framework in which encounter takes shape.

The stool and its accompanying table are conceived as quiet anchors within a space — objects that do not dominate, but invite. The leather top and enclosed form create a sense of shelter, while the open base introduces lightness and accessibility.

They define a place without enclosing it. A boundary that is not a wall, but an invitation.

Through their scale and positioning, they encourage a gather around feeling: close together, at a human level, without hierarchy. The table supports the moment — a glass, a book, a gesture — while the stool slows the body down. A minimal reduction of the aluminium in the curve creates a controlled, balanced posture.

Together, they form a subtle landscape of proximity.

A soft delineation in which encounters arise naturally.

The stool is sanded and polished with Italian Saponi oil, giving the metal a softened, tactile quality. The leather is fixed only at the edges, allowing it to naturally adapt to the body’s shape. The quality of the saddle leather ensures a comfortable seating experience.

The table is balanced with Belgian natural stone. An aluminium tube positioned behind the leather acts as a handle, allowing the piece to be moved with ease.

Studio Bjorn Verlinde is a Kortrijk-based spatial design practice, founded in 2012 by Bjorn

Verlinde. The studio specializes in highly personalized interior and object design for both

commercial and private clients. Each project starts as a conceptual narrative: the result of a deep-dive into client story, the requirements of the project, its context and desired outcomes. Ultimately, all our design decisions are based on these criteria. With many years of experience in all types of projects, our team has developed a broad skill set, spanning all aspects of design, ranging from creative ideation to technical implementation. What typifies us? A predilection for geometry, structure, color, light and the use of empty space. Inspired by architectural history, modernism, art, music, travel and landscapes, we are always looking for a surprising angle. This mix of elements leads to our atypical thinking, in which functionality always comes first in the design of a special concept. Fur. is our latest furniture brand.
