Mirror in travertine, PVC and glass
LULÙ Mirror
2025/2026
Moving beyond comfort zones, established combinations, and consolidated material contaminations means opening up to the possibility of new configurations, in which design, art, and circular logics are continuously redefined in relation to one another, working precisely on the threshold between disciplines and languages. The boundary is understood not as a rigid limit, but as a space of tension, transformation, and relation, in which the project opens itself to experimentation and to the continuous redefinition of its own languages. It is also a space of passage between the known and the unknown, where what initially appears foreign is gradually integrated into the design process, becoming part of its construction.
Within this framework, the LULÙ collection takes shape, the result of a process that combines material research and sustainability through the reuse of recycled PVC and its dialogue with natural and durable materials such as travertine. The collection is composed of furniture and sculptural objects that explore new relationships between volume, function, and imagery, positioning themselves on a threshold between industrial and artisanal dimensions.
Part of the new collection, Lulù Mirror, explicitly takes the form of a threshold. The travertine structure envelops the mirror, defining a passage between interior and exterior, between image and identity, between what is stable and what is in transformation.
The approach moves between upcycling and high craftsmanship, between formal research and material exploration, between function and expression, continuously investigating the boundary between these poles and seeking new balances and unconventional design devices.
Chendù is a design studio and brand founded by Ernesto Cesario and Elisabetta Mariani. Its research operates at the intersection of contemporary design, high craftsmanship, and material experimentation, with a particular focus on the sustainability of processes and the development of bespoke projects.
Chendù’s work combines innovation, a culture of making, and a strong connection to territory, through an approach that places quality, authenticity, and dialogue between project and matter at its core.
Since 2024, the studio has collaborated with Fainplast on the project Chendù feat. Fainplast, a partnership focused on research and the development of new design solutions, driven by a shared interest in innovation, experimentation, and sustainability.
