Serra Bassa
Ceramic Totem
Her ceramic light sculptures, like trees or mushrooms, are created by superimposing fragments with simple geometric shapes and colour combinations that evoke journeys and cities. Thanks to the materiality and fragility of ceramic, each lamp is like an organic work. Her light totems are named after the cities where Adélie travels, as further fragments of her inspiration and life experience

Adélie Ducasse grew up between New Caledonia and Reunion, where she developed her taste for colors and primitive shapes. Keeping the soul of a child is the intent of Adélie, a multifaceted artist whose playful and joyful universe is inspired by the spontaneity of childhood and its colorful games. In college, she studied mathematics, which helped her develop her abstract thinking. This mental gymnastics inspires the construction of her paintings as logical sequences that can be modulated infinitely. With her geometric abstractions, Adélie Ducasse models design objects as if they were sculptures. This gives life, relief and functionality to her art.
