Jonathan Wajskol is an Italian designer with one foot rooted in European design and the other firmly planted in lower Manhattan. Born and raised in Milan, he studied design there before moving to New York, where he earned his BFA at Parsons School of Design and later pursued an MFA in industrial design at Pratt Institute.
He has over 30 years of experience in the field of visual communication, working for institutions in the corporate as well as the non-profit sectors. In 1985, he founded “designwajskol”, a multifaceted communications and identity design firm based in New York City. Prior to starting his own firm Jonathan worked as a project manager for Vignelli Associates in New York, and for Gio Rossi Associati (now Future Brand) in Milan.
His expertise range from print, exhibition design, environmental design, packaging to branding and wayfinding. Jonathan has won several awards both in the US and Europe, and he has been featured in magazines and newspapers. One of his designs is part of the permanent collection of the Italian Museum of Design in Milan.
Clients include: Siemens Corporation, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, TEN Arquitectos, The Rockefeller Foundation, Time Equities, The Whitney Museum of American Art, Lexus, El Museo del Barrio, New York University, Nava Design Milano and The Bertelsmann Group. Jonathan is currently a faculty member at Parsons School for Design in New York City.
